Giving the public what it wants, The Greater West Bloomfield Chamber of Commerce will roll out some of its most popular events again this fall.

Like, the Chamber Cup, a golf challenge played for the first time last year by the GWBCC and the Lakes Area Chamber, which won the cup. The cost is $135 per golfer and includes a cart, lunch and dinner at the awards and raffle ceremony.

“We want a rematch so we can bring home the coveted cup,” said Suzanne Levine, GWBCC executive director. “It was a lot of fun last year and it’s a big bragging rights thing.”

The Links of Novi will host the event on September 23. Details, including sponsorships, will be posted on the chamber website: westbloomfieldchamber.com.

Let’s talk

Also back by popular demand is the 2024 Leadership Coffee and Conversation Luncheon at 11 a.m., October 8 at Wabeek Country Club.

“The dynamic duo of KC Crain, president and CEO of Crain Communications and Roop Raj, FOX2 anchor and host of Let it Rip, will host the lively event,” Levine said. “They will give their insight into all things relative to business, politics and the future of our state. They were phenomenal last year.”

The deadline to RSVP and pay is September 21. Tickets are $65 for members and $75 for non- members.

The annual event was held as a breakfast during COVID concerns and has returned to a full-blown luncheon event this year.

Get the spirit

This year’s ninth annual Not-So-White Elephant holiday party will be held in December with light appetizers and a cash bar at a yet-to-be-determined day and time.

“It’s always such a great event because we choose a charity, people bring a $20 gift and we raffle it off,” Levine said.

The event is $20 for members and $50 for non-members. Attendees must pre-register.

Getting the word out

The chamber’s WELLth=Wellness is a group created to connect businesses and organizations involved in the wellness and health industry. This networking group meets monthly at different locations hosted by chamber members in health businesses.

“The meetings are a great way to collaborate for mutual benefit and referrals,” Levine said. “It continues to help connect people to businesses and resources.”

Meanwhile, the Senior Resource Group continues to provide resources to seniors to improve their quality of life. This group also offers member businesses, dedicated to serving seniors and their adult children, a specialized networking group.

“Our dynamic group meets monthly and works closely with community groups, private and public sector organizations and area businesses to connect seniors and their children to the resources they need to live active lives,” Levine said.

Resources range from home health care, independent and assisted living, financial services, medical services, real estate services and more. Programs also provide vital information, as well as unique and fun events in collaboration with West Bloomfield Parks. Check the chamber website for programs.

The website also puts you in touch with the W.I.N., Women’s Inspiration Network; the Next B.I.G. Thing, a business idea generator; the Y.E.N., Young Entrepreneurs Network and other chamber member benefits.
