What started as a side business catering to family and friends in 2010, Energizing Electrical Services flipped the switch on an all-in, full-time business three years ago, and it's been lights out (or should that be lights on) ever since.

"In 2010 we were only serving family and friends until our son Johnathan wanted to start apprenticing for us," said DeAnna Gilbert, who owns the business with her husband, David. "We then joined the Plymouth Community Chamber of Commerce for additional work. At that time, we were still a small, part-time business. After we started networking with chamber members, we realized it was time to go all in, and we hired our first employee and went into business full-time. Three years later, we have eight employees and four service vans, and we’re looking to grow even more.”

Gilbert stressed the importance of finding the right people for their company.

As a member of the chambers in Plymouth, Northville and Canton, Energizing Electrical Services serves customers throughout southeast Michigan.

While its primary focus is residential homes, it also extends its services to public schools, small businesses, and local municipalities.

Its team delivers expertise in Electrical Design, Custom Electrical Upgrades, Custom Lighting, Electrical Panels, and Troubleshooting, offering comprehensive services to meet various client needs.

David enjoys passing on his skills to their apprentices, including their daughter, Gloria. As electrical company owners, they support the female role in the industry and take pride in nurturing and developing young talent.
